About the Author
K. Holderness is an independent author with a love for preserving the everyday wisdom of the past. Her work focuses on old-world skills like traditional cooking, food preservation, and herbal remedies—practical knowledge that once helped people survive and thrive in tough conditions.
She has always been interested in how people lived during the pioneer days and the so-called “Wild West.” Life back then was hard, but people had the kind of practical knowledge that helped them survive—and much of that has been forgotten today. Over the years, she’s spent time learning how they cooked, preserved food, stayed healthy, and lived off the land.
Writing came naturally after that. She began putting together the things she was learning—both for her own use and for others who might want to get back to the basics. With a longtime appreciation for off-grid living and preparedness, her books are a way to help keep that old knowledge alive.
Trailside Press™ is her personal imprint, created to publish meaningful, handcrafted books rooted in tradition. Her goal is simple: to honor the past and help others reconnect with the kind of skills that never go out of style.
“Sometimes the old ways are still the best ways.”
“Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.”
